Las Vegas is pretty much always a good backdrop for a music video, which may be why Wale chose the location for his latest music video. In the visual for “Street Runner,” off his Folarin mixtape, the DMV spokesman kicks back in the city of sin.
With an aerial view of the strip, Wale scoops in all the Vegas staples, complete with a ride in a Maybach, beautiful women, hot-boxing blunts, partying and living the life.
Nothing new to the eye here, but the ambience, horn-heavy beat, and lyrics like “I do this for the culture, and I’m hoping i can motivate and do it big as Oprah,” all come together nicely.
Mr. Folarin has come a long way since his underground days and it’s been nice to watch him grow. His forthcoming release The Album About Nothing is due out this year, and will feature the likes of Jerry Seinfeld.
