After a noticeable absence, G.O.O.D. Music‘s resident English crooner Mr. Hudson returns to the scene with a strong song, titled “Fred Astaire. Hodson premiered the tune on Mark Ronson’s East Village Radio show today.

The track displays the pop singer’s affinity for selecting anthemic production and crafting chill inducing harmonies; the very same driving forces that will undoubtedly captivate new and long-time fans alike. “Let me take you there, cross the floor like Fred Astaire” sings Hudson over ambient chords and hypnotic percussion that give the song an old school feel and only enhances its genuine feeling. Lyrically, you can’t help but to believe every word he utters.

Fans are in for a treat if this is any inclination to what Hudson has been cooking up between releasing the Never Grow Up album with Rosie Oddie under the name BIGkids and writing for British talents. At the moment, it’s unclear if “Fred Astaire” will appear on Mr. Hudson’s third studio album, rumored to be releasing some time this year.

In the meantime just enjoy the record for what it is: damned good. Listen to “Fred Astaire” below.
