Hip-Hop grants most good MCs a three to five year shelf life, and that’s if they’re lucky. Meanwhile, Raekwon has been spitting for OGs and hustlers for upwards of 20 years. Credit that to his consistency and transparency. Let’s not forget his quality bars like the ones provided on his latest drop “Son Of Sam.”

The soul oozes out of a menacing boom-bap beat by Frank G and RoadsArt, and proves to play up to The Chef’s strong suits. In other words, expect potent verses that paint a picture of interactions between street figures. Listen closely, because the tale gets very intricate.

“Son of Sam” is possibly the first offering from Raekwon’s forthcoming sixth studio album, F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art). The legendary rapper’s collaborative project with Scram Jones, The Chef vs. The Beast, can whet appetites until the project releases some time this year.
