Sad news for east coast Hip-Hop fans looking to get their annual festival fix at Rock The Bells. According to XXL and Ticketmaster’s web site, both the New York City and Washington D.C. shows have been canceled because of poor ticket sales.

Yes, you read that right. Initially thought to be a rumor, the Washington Post and Washington City Paper also confirmed sources saying the events were no more.

In it’s 10th anniversary year, the California market proved to be more viable than the northeast. Los Angeles and San Francisco shows occurred unhitched earlier in the summer, and were the locales for a pair of hologram performances by ODB and Eazy-E.

The line up donned acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, J. Cole, KiD CuDi, Pusha T, Black Hippy, and more.

XXL says Rock The Bells will take a three million dollar loss. All fans will be reimbursed.
