The Black Panties album was just one of a few strategic moves up R. Kelly‘s sleeve, according to a statement from IFC revealing that the singer-songwriter’s Trapped In The Closet series will return to television next year.
Yes, you read that right. R. Kelly will release an unspecified amount of episodes continuing the emotional hip-hopera that in the past 33 installments included tales of lust, adultery, and even managed to weave a little person into the fold. With that precedent, we can only imagine where the Chicago native will take things this time around.
Separately, Kellz took the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage last night to perform a medley of songs from Black Panties, due in stores December 6. He was joined by 2 Chainz, who assisted with a live rendition of “My Story.”
