HBO announced yesterday that it is developing a electronic music comedy with popular DJ Calvin Harris, who is also joining forces with Will Smith and Jay Z on the venture. The series, titled Higher, builds on the already solid relationship between Smith and Jay Z, who are serving as the show’s producers.

Harris, listed as Forbes’ highest earning DJ in 2013, is working with Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh to build the world of Higher according to an exclusive report from Deadline.

Not much is known about the plot, but it can be assumed that Harris will pull from his own life as a highly sought-after producer and DJ. On paper, Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment production company, the Three Six Zero Group, and Jay Z’s Marcy Media are the major players behind the show.

Overbrook’s James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Miguel Melendez are Higher‘s executive producers. Three Six Zero Group’s Mark Gillespie and Dean Wilson, and Marcy Media’s Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Jay Brown, and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith round out the rest. Harris is also listed as an executive producer on the project, and is managed by Three Six Zero Group.

Harris won a Grammy for Best Short Form Video for the track “We Found Love” last year with Rihanna. He is also up for a pair of Grammys this year in the Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica categories.
