Pharrell Williams had a splendid 2013, and his 2014 is off to a fast start after winning four Grammy Awards. Now we get word that the “Happy” singer and producer will be performing at the Oscars.

Reports The Hollywood Reporter:

The singer-songwriter-producer, who has also served as a music consultant for the Academy Awards, will take the Dolby Theatre stage to perform “Happy,” the Despicable Me 2 track that is nominated for best original song.  Williams previously released what is described as the first-ever 24-hour music video for the track, with an online playback that corresponds to the local time of the listener. The lighthearted video features guest spots from Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt, Steve Martin and Steve Carell, among others.

“Happy” is up for “Best Original Song,” but Pharrell won’t be the first Hip-Hop act to win if takes the title, though. That honor belongs to Eminem, who won an Oscar for “Lose Yourself” from 8 Mile soundtrack. Three 6 Mafia also won an Oscar for “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” from the Hustle & Flow soundtrack.

Best believe that besides his performance, Pharrell will get plenty attention for what hat he wears to the Oscars, which air on March 2.
