Expect Chicago to produce a few more potential stars from its growing pool of MCs. One happens to be G Herbo (a.k.a. Lil Herb), who states his claim on a new mixtape titled Welcome To Fazoland.
Herbo hails from the Chi-Town’s East Side, which also produced his friend and partner in rhyme Lil Bibby, who had a breakout year in 2013. Both are considered two of the best street MCs in their city, but their styles are very different. Herbo’s rhyme patterns and preference for Drill production differs from Bibby’s raspy voice, pronounced delivery and soulful undertone.
The magic in Herb is his ability to make each line feel purposeful. That translates with listeners.
