Grammy Award-winning rapper Macklemore recently electrified the Barclays Center in the name of the Jordan Brand Classic but that didn’t put a limit on his involvement with the legendary #23.

During his performance, all ears were on the music but all eyes were on his feet as he rocked his own custom pair of Jumpmans, the Northwest “King Salmon” Melo M10. Colored after the fish the populate his beloved Pacific Ocean, the Seattle rapper couldn’t have been more proud of the dubious honor bestowed on a non-athlete. Chamillionaire must be somewhere spitting curse words under his breath.

“I’m proud to announce the unveiling of my “Northwest King Salmon Melo’s Courtesy of @jumpman23 and myself Never dreamed I’d have an opportunity,” he said hoisting up the shoe for his Instagram. The revelation was only cemented with a selfie with the living legend himself, Michael Jordan.

The prestigious sneaker company has been making power moves this year and this move just adds to this year’s building block. Jordan himself just presented the Air Jordan XX9, which are going for $225 a pair.

Jordan may have bested Macklemore’s Seattle Supersonics in the 1996 NBA Finals but there is no denying greatness when it advances to you offer up props. Mack has come a long way from the “Thrift Shop.”
