Over the weekend, Hip-Hop Wired was live at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington D.C. While there, attendees sang praises of local newcomer Goldlink, who’s “Wassup” track is gaining traction.

The bubbling rapper is only partial for the record’s early success, as the production was crafted by Grand Rapids by way of Seattle producer Sango. The cut samples Timbaland and Magoo’s catchy “Indian Flute” single. Given the sonic bedding, the song already has a certain familiarity. And that’s without mentioning Goldlink’s dexterous delivery.
