UPDATE: The aforementioned iTunes stream of Lecrae’s Anomaly album is dead, but fans can still stream it guilt-free after the jump.

Webster’s defines “anomaly” as something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected. When you happen to be a Christian-rooted rapper who gets regularly mentioned amongst your more secular peers, the term could be used as a fitting title for an album. Grammy Award-winning artist Lecrae does just that on his seventh studio album where being the odd man out is the only way to be.

Mixing reality raps (“Welcome to America”) modernistic Hip-Hop (“Dirty Water”) with soul-baring revelations (“Fear”), the LP delivers to any willing participant looking for a little brain food with their instrumentals. Speaking of beats, Anomaly sports a talented bevy of producers including S1 of Watch the Throne fame, Derek Minor and Dirty Rice among others.

In a recent interview with Hip-Hop Wired, Lecrae revealed his decision to skip out on working with the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Nipsey Hussle and tightened his stance on discussing topics most artists have second thoughts about.
