For the second time this week, a NFL running back is making headlines for domestic violence. Unfortunately for Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson, is charge has the potential to overshadown Ray Rice’s if all the allegations prove to be true.
According to MyFOXHouston, Peterson has been indicted on charges for “reckless or negligent injury to a 11-year-old child” in Texas. TMZ is also confirming that Child Protective Services in Texas told them they are currently investigating the case. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the injuries were sustained after Peterson supposedly disciplined a son “with a switch.”
Peterson’s Houston attorney, Rusty Hardin, declined comment when contacted by FOX 26 Sports but Jay Glazer has learned that Peterson turned himself in as result of the indictment. Being in custody makes him questionable to appear in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots but he did attend Thursday’s workout with the Vikings.
The news is shocking considering Peterson had a child killed due to abuse from his baby mother’s boyfriend.
