Lupe Fiasco has a gift for stirring up controversy and lively debate whether onstage or via social media. Over the weekend on Twitter, the Chicago rapper answered a fan’s question regarding the Islamic faith that turned heads for some.
Lupe asked on his page a simple question regarding Ben Affleck‘s weekend appearance on Bill Maher’s Real Time program, in where the actor clashed with the host over radical Islamists and the religion itself. Affleck staunchly defended Islam after Maher and other co-hosts seemingly categorized the actions of Islamists and Jihadists as a representation of all who practice the faith.
Lupe opened the debate with the question, “#BenAffleck asked something that went unanswered by Bill Maher and the other guest[s] – ‘what’s your solution?’”
The question opened the floodgates for other Twitter users who attempted to goad Lupe into an angry clash of words but he stayed balanced throughout the flurry of questions to come.
