Although it seemed like it had a definitive release date of tomorrow (October 27), Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V won’t be seeing the light of day to embrace the Halloween festivities.

KarenCivil.com broke the news with a brief report.

Originally slated to drop tomorrow (Oct. 28), Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated Tha Carter V has unfortunately been pushed back. The president of Young Money revealed to KarenCivil.com that they are currently working on a new release date for the project.

The album has been long-delayed since its platinum predecessor Tha Carter IV released in 2011. Earlier this year, both Kobe Bryant and Floyd Mayweather used their respective social media followings to generate some buzz behind the album. Shortly afterwards, the Drake-assisted “Believe Me” was released, climbing all the way to No. 7 on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Charts.

However, the two Young Money stars embarked on a nationwide tour that undoubtedly shifted the focus that allowed Wayne to finish the album. Over the summer, Mannie Fresh and Key Wane both told Hip-Hop Wired from what they heard, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V sounded “amazing,” but as the recent revelation suggests, we’ll have to wait to hear that for ourselves.
