When a clique’s president can make a track this well, what would you expect from the best artist in the crew?
9. Jay IDK – “Hungry”
Producer: MarcNfinit
I missed this record from the promising DMV rapper when it dropped earlier this week. But it would be a disservice to this list not to include it.
8. Trick Trick ft. Various Artists – “Detroit vs. Everybody (Remix)”
Producer: Statik Selektah
Trick Trick organized a proper remix for the hometown anthem, featuring Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Def Loaf, Sino, Marv Won, Payroll, Hydro, and many more. That’s a lot of bars, if you didn’t know.
7. Joey Bada$$ – “No. 99”
Producer: Statik Selektah
After the release of this song, we’re all ears for Joey Bada$$’ debut album B4.DA.$$.
6. Wiz Khalifa ft. BankRoll Fresh & Reese – “Simple Conversation”
Producer: Sledgren, Ricky P & IdLabs
Trap Wiz may see some radio success with this heater.
5. Fashawn ft. Evidence – “Dreams”
Producer: The Alchemist
Fash and Alan The Chemist are teaming up to deliver the FASH-ionably Late EP, and this is one hell of a first release.
4. Nipsey Hussle ft. Rick Ross – “A Hunnit A Show”
Producer: Hit-Boy
Are we the only ones who think Neighborhood Nipsey and Ricky Rozay should drop an EP?
3. PRhyme ft. ScHoolboy Q & Killer Mike – “Underground Kings”
Producer: DJ Premier
Royce Da 5’9″ and company go for blood on this knocking tune, especially Killer Mike.
2. J. Cole – “A Tale Of 2 Citiez”
Producer: Vinylz
“Uhh, nice watch. Run it!,” said Light-skinned Jermaine, making this track perhaps the best on his 2014 Forrest Hills album in the process.
1. Chance The Rapper & The Social Experiment – “Ish Illa (Cold Stares)”
Producer: The Social Experiment
Singing in a cadence that’s reminiscent of Dungeon Family’s Sleepy Brown, Chano and The Social Experiment deliver the most sonically unique cut to hit the Internets this week.
