After enduring a season-long suspension and loss of endorsements, mainly the biggest one with Nike, Adrian Peterson has survived long enough to see his playing days resumed once again.

Adrian Peterson is officially back in the NFL.

The NFL announced Thursday that Peterson has been reinstated effective Friday as an active NFL player and may participate in all scheduled activities with the Vikings. Peterson was placed on the Exempt/Commissioner Permission List on September 17 of 2014, and was officially eligible to come off the list on Wednesday.

The next natural question: Will Peterson show up to offseason workouts with Minnesota? With the NFL Draft just two weeks away, Peterson will be at the center of NFL discussions.

Around the NFL will have more on the story soon.

Peterson’s last game was played on September 7, 2014. The previous year, he became the third fastest player to reach 10,000 rushing yards in NFL history.
