A teenager in Florida was arrested Monday (Nov. 16) in a deadly fight over borrowed heels. Curtez Fields, 18, is facing aggravated battery causing bodily harm in the death of 21-year-old Nicole Hewitt.
Fields went to Hewitt’s apartment last Saturday, to retrieve a pair of shoes she loaned her. According to what Fields told police, she confronted Hewitt on the stairwell and was told to leave.
She says Hewitt pointed a finger in her face, at which point a fight broke out. Fields punched and choked Hewitt, who fell and hit her head on the concrete. Fields recalled seeing Hewitt’s face swell as she punched.
Hewitt reportedly suffered blunt force trauma but refused medical treatment, despite the swelling. She died the next day.
Fields is being held on $7,500 bond. She faces additional charges of burglary and grand theft.
