UFC fighter Jon Jones was arrested for allegedly driving without everything needed to legally operate a vehicle. Jones, 28 didn’t have a license, registration, or proof of insurance when he was pulled over in Albuquerque, N.M. late last month.

Just after the UFC announced Jon “Bones” Jones will have a championship fight in April following a long layoff after he crashed into a pregnant woman and took off, KRQE News 13 has learned his driving problems continue.

Online court documents show on January 31st Jones was cited for driving without a license, registration and insurance, by a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy.

An article put out by the UFC says Jones “was stripped of his crown due to legal issues that have since been resolved”.

Jones has had a lot of trouble behind the wheel. In 2012 he was convicted of DWI in New York after he crashed into a pole and was ticketed in Albuquerque in 2011 for driving on a suspended license but in recent months Jones has promised to clean up his act.

Since accepting a plea deal in September, Jones has been speaking at schools, community centers and even the jail, about his alcohol and marijuana fueled hit and run crash last April that injured a pregnant women and led to the UFC stripping him of his title.

Jones is scheduled to appear in court on the driving charges Wednesday (Feb. 10).Prior to the latest struggle, the mixed martial artist had publicly apologized for his past mistakes.

His  UFC World Light Heavyweight match goes down April 23 in Las Vegas.
