Around these parts we are unapologetically Team Kendrick Lamar, so the Compton rapper not winning Album of the Year at the 2016 Grammy Awards is akin to robbery. Taylor Swift is who won the trophy, and she used her acceptance speech to hurl shots at Kanye West

By now you’ve heard about Yeezy rapping, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b*tch famous,” on Famouse off his The Life of Pablo album. West said it wasn’t a diss, but Swift felt differently.

During her acceptance speech tonight, she didn’t mention Yeezy by name, but she was clearly referencing, and refuting, his sentiments.

She said, “I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success. Or try to take credit for your accomplishments or your fame, but if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going you’ll look around and you will know it was you, and the people who love you, who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you, for this moment.”

Well alrighty then.

K. Dot did win Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album. He also caught another award for Best Music Video for appearing on Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.”

Back to Kendrick Lamar losing Album of the Year, though. We’ll let Tori Kelly’s face during Swift’s speech speak for us.
