A Tribe Called Quest is set to be immortalized on the block they made famous. A mural of the group will be painted on “the boulevard of Linden.”

TMZ reports:

The guys from A Tribe Called Quest are about to be kings of Queens with their own larger-than-life tribute on a building they made famous.

The street art, commissioned by fans, will be painted on the side of Nu-Clear Cleaners, the dry cleaner where the group shot its “Check The Rhime” video back in ’91. The building sits on Linden Boulevard … the street that’s soon-to-be co-named A Tribe Called Quest Blvd.

New York City council member Daneek Miller also tells TMZ that the paperwork was submitted last month, and nobody has objected the mural thus far.

Artist Vince Ballentine will be the man responsible for painting the mural. XXL reports that the mock-up features the faces of all four members, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Jarobi and the late Phife Dawg, placed between the Nu-Clear Cleaners’ wall’s five windows. The background will have a similar design and red, black and green color scheme as their Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders albums. The words “A Tribe Called Quest” will go above their heads with the words “Represent, Represent” underneath.

This is the latest show of appreciation for the group since Phife Dawg passed away in March. A petition is still active for Linden Boulevard to be renamed to “A Tribe Called Quest Boulevard.”
