Yes, it is still kind of weird seeing the man who calls himself “Push A Ton” all of a sudden working with Hillary Clinton, but let’s allow him to grow up a little. The lifestyle that Pusha T raps about often ends with a stiff prison sentence. Look no further than the Clipse’s former manager Anthony “Geezy” Gonzales who was busted for leading a $10 million drug ring back in 2009 and is serving a 32-year prison bid for it.
If there’s anyone that is interested in prison reform, it should be Pusha. Which is why this clip of him speaking with 13th director Ava DuVernay makes so much sense. 13th examines how the lawmakers and corporate giants in America have kept slavery alive by creating poor economic conditions and harsh prison sentences that have disproportionately effect people of color.
