Another day, another Azealia Banks online beef. Par the course for the controversial Interscope signee, Yung Rapunxel engaged in a war of words with “Harlem Shake” artist Baauer on Twitter regarding an unauthorized remix she released yesterday. What’s shocking, unless your Perez Hilton, was her use of h0mophobic slurs in the heated exchange.
According to a Potholes In My Blog report, Baauer took umbrage at the fact that Banks had attempted to get the song cleared for her upcoming debut album Broke With Expensive Taste, but decided to release the rejected song for free on Soundcloud. Baauer had the song removed from the Internets, prompting Banks to rant as she’s known to do.
“Respect the fact I was inspired by your sh-t. Inspired enough to spend more than f–king 30secs paying homage to it,” tweeted Banks to Baauer. “I’m a real Baauer fan. I knew about harlem shake before n—ggas was actin a fool for 30secs on YouTube,” she added. Although Banks could have ended it right there, she’s proven time and again that her filter is inoperable.
“You don’t even belong in Harlem. HA!” Banks continued. “You’re a p-ssy, you don’t belong in hip hop.”
Baauer did happen to reply to the rant with a simple “cause its not ur song lol” but things really kicked up when Mad Decent producers ETC!ETC! & Brillz jumped in and said Banks has done the same to their song “Swoop.”
“You guys are all f-ggots. May you drown in f-ggotry,” tweeted Banks to ETC!ETC!, Brillz and Baauer. She ended her salvo by saying she’ll rap to whatever she wants regardless of their opposition.
Perez Hilton once again felt the wrath of the 21-year-old Harlem native, as reported by Billboard. Way to keep a cool head there, Azealia Banks. Can’t wait for the album now.
