Chrisette Michele was hospitalized in New York City yesterday, forcing the cancellation of her show. The singer released a statement to Hip-Hop Wired, explaining what she was ailing from.

In the statement, the 30-year-old’s rep denies that she had a ruptured appendix, as previously reported. “Last night, Chrisette Michele had to cancel her show in NYC due to a stomach infection that required her to visit the hospital as a precautionary measure,” reads the statement. “She is doing well and in good spirits and looks forward to seeing her fans on the upcoming Woman To Woman tour with Keyshia Cole and for them to hear her new album, Better, this spring. She thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”

Michele also took to Twitter to thank fans for their “prayers and well wishes,” promising that she will “be just fine,” and that she is “trusting the Lord.” She also posted a photo of her hospital band online.

Her Better album is said to drop in April.
