A CD release party for 13-year-old rapper Lil Mouse turned violent after a gunman opened fired and wounded seven people in a Chicago nightclub. Police say that around 1 a.m. this morning, a fight broke out at Mr. G’s Entertainment Center in the city’s South Side which sparked the shooting.

Lil Mouse and King Samson were the headlining acts at the nightclub, with the pair celebrating the launching of new material,  reports the Chicago Tribune. Allegedly after a patron threw a chair, someone in the crowd retaliated by firing shots. The gunfire resulted in panic, causing the hundreds of attendees to scatter towards exits.

The shooting victims’ ages ranged from 19 to 36, with six of the victims well enough to take themselves to area hospitals. One man was taken to a local emergency room via ambulance. There were no reported fatalities and conditions of the victims are still unknown. The youngest of the victims was a woman.

According to the Tribune report, both Lil Mouse and King Samson left the nightclub shortly after performing their sets. Samson’s manager released a statement responding to the news of the shooting. “[King Samson] does not promote violence, we fight against violence,” wrote Justin Lewis. “We are working so Chicago comes together.”

Lil Mouse, who caused a stir after his controversial video “Get Smoked” hit the Internets last summer, has not commented on the event.
