You’ve got to appreciate real Hip-Hop moments, the greatest of which is perhaps the cypher. Two of the game’s highly lauded lyricists in Prodigy of the legendary Mobb Deep and Sean Price took it back to the essence of emceeing at The Boiler Room in New York City, where they kicked a few rhymes with nothing but a DJ and a microphone.

Representing a deep lyrical lineage between Queensbridge and Brooklyn, the two brought their A-game over Big Daddy Kane’s classic “Ain’t No Half-Steppin’.” The verdict is out on if the bars spit were freestyles or pre-written, but we’ll give Prodigy and Sean P. the benefit of the doubt due to their history with the rhymes.

“I’m a zoo n***a, trip to the Bronx/ Your raps is wild a$$ n***a, Nicki Minaj,” are one of the milder lines from the “Bar-Barian.” Hear more in the full footage below.
