Kanye West willingly credits everyone that contributes to his projects. Now that the info is available for Yeezus, we know that CyHi The Prynce contributed writing to nine of the 10 tracks on the project. Because of this, MTV sat with the G.O.O.D. Music rapper to speak on the process for the album sessions.

“It’s hard for you to be in there and be like ‘what this sound like?’ to yourself,” CyHi said on West’s reasoning for assembling musicians in the studio.

The Atlanta rapper explained that a lot of his role entails keeping up the energy in the room while folks are creating.

“We’re trying to make the best product possible. We’re trying to make the best Apple product there is. That’s how we look at a lot of things,” explained CyHi.

He continued, “When the iPhone was made, one person wasn’t in their making the iPhone.”

To those still up in arms about the writing credits should keep their cool. West has been known to collaborate with others on the rhyming tip. Check the liner notes of your favorite album by the Chicago native.
