A Brooklyn teen’s joyride came to an abrupt end after running through a red light and hitting other parked cars Tuesday morning (June 25). The unidentified youngster lost all control of emotion once an NYPD officer placed him in handcuffs.

According to the New York Daily News, the teen jacked a two-door BMW with Maine license plates, from someone he knew. The would-be-criminal reportedly ran a red light, speeding through his Crown Heights neighborhood. He lost control of the luxury vehicle hitting three parked cars, the last of which was a SUV outside of P.S. 375, the Jackie Robinson School. The third car  belonged to a teacher.

By the time officers responded to the scene, the 14-year-old was already on the run. He was captured trying to hide in a nearby apartment building. As he was led away, a NYDN photographer snapped the boy bawling uncontrollably.  No word on why he was so emotional, but maybe the cuffs were too tight, or he was thinking about the bigger punishment waiting for him at home.

He faces reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief charges.

See photos of the boy crying like a newborn baby below.
