“I have been committed to helping the people of Haiti throughout my life, and that commitment will continue until the day I die….”

After reports circulated accusing Wyclef Jean’s “Yele Haiti” of being an illegitimate organization Wyclef Jean is stepping up to defend his entity.

As previously reported popular whistle-blower website The Smoking Gun claimed that only $1 of the $5 contributions collected were being donated to the Haiti relief efforts.

The website also claimed the organization did not file tax records and Clef was actually profiting from the donations.

Now Clef is speaking out against the allegations and denouncing them as false and disgusting.

Wyclef posted a YouTube video to his website to shut down the rumors against him where he says that he would never steal from his organization.

“I myself have put $1 million inside of my own foundation so not only do I denounce all that…I’m disgusted by that…”

Don’t believe the hype.

Text “Yele” to 501501 to donate $5 to Wyclef’s earthquake relief efforts.
