The second part of Elliott Wilson‘s “#FACTSONLY” conversation with Jay Z via his Life + Times interview segment, The Truth, was unleashed today (July 24). In the continuation, Wilson gets Hov to open up about Trayvon Martin, securing his legacy, and other candid moments during the chat.

Jay starts the talk by acknowledging his elder statesman position in the game, and recognizing that younger peers such as Drake and J. Cole are gunning for his spot. But it was Hov’s revealing look into why he decided to jump into sports management that highlighted the Brooklyn mogul’s larger purpose.

“Most athletes go broke in three or four years, I felt like it was a greater purpose there, “ shared Jay Z of his agent aims. “We were always mentoring, [including] Lebron James, as friends, though. No business arrangement, just having discussions.”

Beyond sports, Jay also chimed in on the responsibility of fame, President Obama’s recent comments on race, and criticizing actor Harry Belafonte’s comments. The entire interview is a definite must-watch.
