Fans are waiting to see what Pusha T does on his solo debut My Name Is My Name, but an influx of delays have impeded that from happening. During a recent interview with VIBE, the Virginia native explained why he pushed the album back from its intended July 16 release date.

The G.O.O.D. Music rapper says that he turned the LP into Kanye West in June as planned, but he never guessed  that his boss would give him three beats that would change the fabric of his project.

“One of those beats was from Joaquin Phoenix, and it’s probably gonna be … I want it to be the intro to my album,” Push revealed. Yes, he’s referring to Joaquin Phoenix, the actor.

“When I heard it, I knew it was mine man,” said the rapper about the aforementioned production, which will be used for the intro.

In closing, Pusha ensured that My Name Is My Name will be well worth the wait. “Listen, I got it. There’s no production in the world that’s better than this album right now … It just is what it is.”
