Are you familiar with Austin Mahone? He’s the kid that tried to bring all leather everything back during MTV VMA’s pre-show and who many have anointed as the next Justin Bieber. Well, reportedly he has inked a deal with Cash Money Records.

Cash Money Records continues to grow and diversify their label with new acts. A budding pop star looks to be the latest addition to YMCMB as teen sensation Austin Mahone has aligned with the home of Lil’ Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga and others. The 17-year-old singer/dancer from San Antonio, Texas made a name through YouTube videos, which landed him a deal with Universal Republic. Birdman and DJ Khaled tweeted on Thursday night, confirming some form of partnership with Mahone’s Chase Records.
Dubbed by many as the next Justin Bieber, Mahone was an opening act on Taylor Swift’s RED tour and dubbed by MTV as an artist to watch in 2013. More recently, Mahone performed his current single “What About Love” during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. His debut album Junior Year is scheduled to arrive this fall. Looks like that collaboration with his favorite artist may happen after all.
Cash Money linking with Mahone shouldn’t be too much of a surprise since Cash Money has been diversifying their acts for some time now. Singer Jay Sean is thriving on the label and on the outrageous side of things, the whom that Slim and Baby built signed Paris Hilton earlier this year.
