Last week, the Internets were abuzz over news that comic Dave Chappelle faced a tough crowd in Hartford, Conn., and stopped performing after hecklers rained down boos and insults. During a stop in Chicago, Chappelle addressed the matter and had some choice words for the Hartford crowd.

TMZ reported on the matter after black comedy website Da Laughing Barrel posted audio of Chappelle’s Oddball Comedy Festival performance at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater over the weekend. With controlled security and space to work his 25-minute act, Chappelle made sure that fans in Hartford felt his anger.

“F-ck Hartford,” said Chappelle soon as he hit the stage. “I took a nasty spill the other night, and contrary to popular belief, I’m not on drugs.”

He continued saying, “This crowd is so much better than Hartford. “I don’t want anything bad to happen to the United States, but if North Korea ever drops a nuclear bomb on this country, I swear to God I hope it lands in Hartford, Connecticut.”

Chappelle called the crowd “evil” and referred to them as “young, white alcoholics” before saying he wanted to “pull a reverse Kramer” episode. As some will recall, Seinfeld actor and comedian Michael Richards let loose on hecklers with a n-word tirade in 2006 during a performance.
