After making a 911 call Monday (September 9) alleging that she and her father were threatened with  gun violence, George Zimmermans wife, Shellie, has decided to not press charges.

A couple of questionable moves made by the former night watchman in the wake of his July acquittal in the shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin have been puzzling. The latest instance took place earlier this afternoon at a residence owned by Mrs. Zimmerman’s parents, writes USA Today.

Audio of a 911 call, now inadmissible because Mrs. Zimmerman changed her story, revealed that Mr. Zimmerman broke an iPad she was holding, punched her father in the nose, and placed a hand on his gun in a threatening manner. Police responded swiftly to the call, arriving at the suburban Orlando home. Instead of arresting Mr. Zimmerman, the police questioned him outside the home before letting him go free.

The couple, who filed for divorce last week, blamed the other for the disturbance and police say Mrs. Zimmerman changed her claim that she saw her husband brandish a weapon. With the retraction, police could not move forward with domestic violence charges nor were they able to retrieve the gun.

Lake Mary Deputy Police Chief Colin Morgan stated that the fight began between Mr. Zimmerman’s and his wife’s father before it escalated.

Zimmerman  has been stopped twice for speeding in recent weeks.
