Floyd Mayweather, Jr. rests comfortably atop the list of boxing’s truly polarizing figures, but rising star, Adrien Broner, looks to follow in his footsteps. Hip-Hop Wired had an opportunity to speak with the Cincinnati native about his upcoming bout, why he’s so flashy, and what music puts him in the headspace to enter the ring.
To some, Broner’s cocky demeanor and theatrics are the draw to watching his fights, but to neglect the 24-year-old’s undoubtable talent would be ludicrous. And in a few months time, fans will get to see why.
“December 14th, my debut of pay-per-view — MGM Grand, Las Vegas. It’s going to be great, against Marcos Maidana,” Broner said. Confident in nature, he’s already calling his upcoming square-off another notch in the wins column. “You know I do this, man,” he explained succinctly.
