Sean “Diddy” Combs has amassed quite a fortune as the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment. Now, the Harlem native is giving back and passing the torch of entrepreneurship to low-income youth after donating $250,000 to an organization that teaches them business skills.

TheGrio reported on Diddy’s financial gift last week to the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NTFE), a non-profit with the global aim of teaching ways to build and grow businesses to students of lesser means. Diddy, worth $580 million according to Forbes, did more than just write a check as he also met with NTFE students and offered tips as well.

From TheGrio:

“I’m definitely proud that I could do something positive,” the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment told theGrio. “Being able to have a certain amount of economic power, to me, gives you the opportunity to help people and support great causes. NFTE is a great cause.”

“I wish I had a NFTE when I started. That could really have showed me the importance of combining what I learned in school, and then applying that to my street smarts,” Combs said of working with the group.

Although the spirit of the event was giving back, Diddy was still in hustle mode as he discussed his upcoming Revolt TV cable venture. “We have a tagline: Music. Freedom. Truth,” said Diddy. “The new number one name in music. It’s going to be a place that you can really express yourself.”
