Georgia, or more particularly Atlanta, boasts a bevy of MCs, but few are like Rittz. We spoke with the long-haired wordsmith at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards about his Cypher experience, putting on for his Strange Music clique, and his hometown pride.
“Being in the cypher was a dream come true, man,” Rittz said. “I’ve been a rapper for a long time, and to finally get to this point, it’s amazing; it’s unreal.”
The rapper explained that it was a pleasure to represent for Strange Music — a collective created by Tech N9ne — at the annual show, but it was even more important to show and prove for his city.
