The Hip-Hop Thanksgiving charity continues to spread all across the country and it is a glorious sight to see. After Jeezy embraced down south Atlanta, Rich Homie Quan and Meek Milly fed the East, it’s Big Sean’s turn to give his Midwestern hometown of Detroit the turkey love.

If it wasn’t clear enough from his discography, the G.O.O.D. Music captain loves his city with a passion. Together with the help of his organization, the Sean Anderson Foundation, they injected a bit of happiness into the westside of the rebuilding community.

The Cody Rouge Turkey Giveaway received a big turnout from the city’s population yesterday, November 26. Included in the mix were former professional athletes such as boxer Tommy Hearns and basketballers Mateen Cleaves and Earl Cureton. Although his newly-minted fiancée, Naya Rivera wasn’t on hand, Big Sean was joined by his parents and was more than thankful for his position to be a hero to many.

“We’re just giving back anyway we can,” he told the cameras. “This turkey giveaway is awesome.”

Comedian, actor and sometimes rapper, Mike Epps also flew in from L.A. to partake in the turkey giveaway. He told local reporters that he considered the Michigan hub a second home. With his trademarked grin he told WXYZTVDetroit that “Detroit is such a resilient, beautiful city and we can’t let the crime riddle us and take away the joy so we got to keep the spirit in it.”

“It feels good to see people excited to see me and I’m just as excited to see them,” Sean continued, surrounded by smiling faces. Like the rapper said on his 2010’s “Hometown,” “I like it in the city.”

Boy. Check out the photo-ops in the following gallery. A joyous occasion indeed.
