Audio Push reintroduced themselves as a much more mature group on their stellar Come As You Are mixtape. Hip-Hop Wired sat with the HS87 rappers to discuss the inspiration behind the project, why they made it a conceptual piece, and had them share a few experiences from their time on Lil Wayne’s “America’s Most Wanted Music Festival” tour.
“The idea of putting together a free album, that’s what we wanted to do. That’s what we focused on. We didn’t want to put together a gang of just songs that we just rapped on,” Oktane explained. His partner Price added, “We wanted to actually make something that we wanted to listen to from top to bottom, and feel like we used to feel back in the G.”
We won’t give up Audio Push’s tour story. Just know that it involves a potentially perverted cameraman, a megatron, and a surprise visual for those in attendance.
