One thing we appreciate about Chicago rappers is their distinctive sound. While the GBE has flourished because of their burly Drill sound and Chance The Rapper made his mark with his dynamic musicality, rising wordsmith Tree finds comfort somewhere in between.

He has an unique style which he calls “soul trap,” which can be heard on his new track “Probably Nu It.” This tune dons bubbly production that’s almost reminiscent to snap rap of the mid aughts. There’s no country for dancing to this cut, though.

“Probably Nu It” will appear on Tree’s forthcoming The @MCTREEG EP, presented by Scion AV. That releases January 21. Stream it below.
