Here’s taking it back to the essence for you. Veteran collective The LOX channel Hip-Hop’s good old days on a new track titled “Boom Bap.”

With a proper KRS One sample in tow, Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch rhyme about the time and the artists that influenced their career decisions. “I put the city on red alert/ Shout the uncle Red Alert/ A thousand homies, that’s a red alert/ You ain’t getting money on your block, get better work,” S.P. The Ghost rhymes.

“Boom Bap” is further indication that The LOX are still on the A game. This record is actually the second reaffirmation in recent weeks, as the New York trio surprised fans with The Trinity EP in December.
