2 Chainz is working on B.O.A.T.S. III LP, but he decided to whet fans’ appetites in the meantime with a visual for “Mainstream Ratchet” from B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time.

The Hair Weave Killer can be spotted on an island, but rather than a lavish beach backdrop, he opted for dark locales that are as grimy as the synths in the song’s production. Like always, a catchy melody and knocking drums are the recipe for rump shaking in rap videos, and there’s plenty of that here. Credit that to director Sharod Marcus Simpson, who shot the clip.

It’s clear that 2 Chainz saw a lot of potential in his sophomore album (he performed the “Outroduction” during a recent TV appearance), which did not perform well commercially compared to his debut.
