The #ALTV team recently caught up with DJ Mustard in a conversation that delved into Hip-Hop and taking the art of deejaying to another level.

During the interview, the heavily sought-after producer talked with Al Lindstrom.tv about his relationship with Timbaland, wanting to executive produce Justin Beiber’s next album, Compton rapper YG and more, including his inspiration behind evolving as a DJ.

“I went to HARD fest last year,” said Mustard when he began to explain what motivated him to step outside the box in the field of turntabling. “I seen it and thought, why can’t Hip-Hop DJs –– ’cause they all know these songs too. It’s just about how you’re going to make your show, what you’re going to do that’s different than them.”

Earlier in his sit-down, Mustard marked his involvement with a musical experience like HARD to be indicative of how he’s been able to take the game that much farther.

“I just feel like there wasn’t a Hip-Hop DJ that ever done it, ya know what I’m saying? I feel like Hip-Hop DJs don’t ever take it that far.
