Wack rappers, you’re going to learn today, because two top tier MCs in Pharoahe Monch and Black Thought teamed up in the spirit of lyrical decimation. Spearheaded by Pharoahe, the collaboration is titled “Rapid Eye Movement.”

The Queens rapper is no stranger to proper acronym placement. In fact, this track appears on his upcoming PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) LP. Like any Pharoahe cut, this is an audible display of how one can effectively contort the English language. The only difference is that the veteran wordsmith is joined by an equally talented poet in The Roots frontman.

“This type of nuanced rap, to me it says what it is,” Pharoahe explained during an exclusive interview with Hip-Hop Wired. “It speaks to a percentage of kids who were into Star Wars and rap music at the same time.”

“Rapid Eye Movement” was produced by Marco Polo. Stream the record below and pre-order PTSD via iTunes.
