Robin Thicke came to the 2014 Billboard Music Awards with a purpose. The crooner debuted “Get Her Back,” a song dedicated to his estranged wife Paula Patton, during an intimate performance.
Thicke’s tone is both earnest, albeit R&B smooth. Backed by soothing percussion and guitar strings, the “Blurred Lines” singer asked the crowd to assist him with his begging cry. “I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small/ I never should have asked you to do anything at all,” Thicke sings.
The Hollywood couple publicly announced their separation in February, but it’s clear that Thicke doesn’t see that as an option. We’ll have to see how this plays out, but you can see “Get Her Back” live below. Find the CDQ on the next page. Give us your thoughts in the comments
