Vince Staples has a long way to go, but he’s already carving a lane for himself as a lyricist with a nuanced story to tell. Still far too new to gauge his sonic range, the Long Beach rapper makes an unpredictable move on “Made,” a song he created in collaboration with Boston funk band, Bad Rabbits.

Described as a “ an innovative mash-up of Boston soul and Los Angeles Hip-Hop,” the cut bears all the sonic distinctions of such an eclectic mix. “Come along for the ride, this my champion song/ Hear the stadium roar/ Standing underneath the bright lights, ready for war/ Tryna win in it in a way you never imagined before,” raps Staples on the upbeat production.

“Made” is the first single off of the second Converse CONS compilation, CONS EP Vol. 2, due out later this year. Hear the cut below.
