A Japanese man has been detained by authorities after police say he became so enraged that his father cancelled his Internet service that he stabbed five of his family members, killing two.

30-year-old Takayuki Iwase of Toyokawa, Japan admitted to stabbing his father and niece early Saturday morning. He also stabbed his mother, sister and younger brother, leaving them seriously injured.

His mother says she was awoken by her son standing over her with a knife yelling,

“Who cancelled the Internet service?!”

After stabbing his family, police say the man set his futon bed on fire in an attempt to burn the house down.

When police asked the man why he did it he reportedly replied,

“I thought the house should be burnt down and I wanted to kill my family.”
