Boldy James, a rising MC of interest around these parts, couldn’t be in a much better situation. As one of the newly signed artists on Nas’ Mass Appeal imprint, the MC had a chance to speak to Hot 107.5 in his native Detroit on their alignment with a little help from his new boss.
Esco enters the conversation around the 8:30 mark. The Queensbridge spitter took no time to discuss exactly what drew him to James. “He just spits raw straight out of the D,” Nas said. “It’s easy to see the talent right there, and I just wanted to be associated with that.”
Nas operated under the assumption that James had a label situation somewhere, but the moment that he learned otherwise, he did what was needed to get him on Mass Appeal.
