Underground trap rapper Peewee Longway didn’t exactly have the best Labor Day Weekend. Instead of making money at a local Alabama club for an appearance, he ended up going in the red after being hit with a $30,000 bailout fee for possesion of a controlled substance and marijuana. The Brick Squad artist was scheduled to perform at the The Luxe Bar & Grill in Montgomery, AL Sunday night (August 31) but police trailed the vehicle he had been riding in and busted him before he could reach his destination.

XXL spoke with the promoters at Club Luxe and they alleged it was a case of the “Hip-Hop cops” doing their due diligence. “Sounded like a set up to me. From what I heard, everybody went to jail,” another source added.

“While we were setting up the VIP area, I got a call from his manager saying they were 30 minutes away. Then next thing you know, he calls back saying they got pulled over by the police down the street,” they reportedly said.

Longway (real name Quincy Lamont Williams) has yet to publicly discuss the incident but apparently is still trapped in Montgomery, according to the activity on his Twitter account.
