A Bronx man is in the hospital after being stabbed with a machete. It all went down early Saturday morning (Oct. 18) at El Carboncito after someone pulled the weapon out of an umbrella.
Reports the New York Daily News:
An argument between two men took a bizarre turn when one pulled a machete he had hidden inside an umbrella and slashed the other in a Bronx restaurant early Saturday, police said.
The unidentified victim was sliced in the neck, back, shoulder and arms at El Carboncito, a taqueria on Watson Ave. near Elder Ave. in Soundview at about 1:15 a.m., cops said.
The attacker fled, possibly still carrying the machete, and has not been apprehended, according to police sources.
The victim is in Jacobi Hospital and despite being slashed and stabbed, and undergoing surgery, is expected to survive. Police released a photo and video of the suspect.
