Yesterday (Jan. 28), news broke that Timberland cut ties with French brand A.P.C. after its founder made highly offensive and racist statements about a portion of his Fall/Winter 2015 collection dubbed “Ni**as In Paris.” Today, Jean Touitou sort of apologized, to Timberland.

“When describing our brand’s latest collaboration, I spoke recklessly using terms that were both ignorant and offensive,” Touitou told GQ via a press statement. “I apologize and am deeply regretful for my poor choice of words, which are in no way a reflection of my personal views.”

So basically Touitou is sorry that his racist rhetoric cost him making money with Timberland.

When is speaking what’s on your mind not your personal view, though? Try again, sir.

Also, what are the chances he called Kanye West for a life line?
